The emergence of online business has brought great potential. The majority of customers now find what they need online (70-90%, depending on what statistics you use). Businesses, as expected, have striven to take advantage of this. They have built websites, and worked hard to make them informative and keep them updated. They’ve opened social media channels, a whole new way of communicating with their customers and promoting themselves.
But much more potential is out there for most businesses. Not all of it has to do with creating new avenues, but with better using the old ones as well. Here are a few additional facets of digital marketing you not have thought of before:
- Search engine optimization (SEO), drives organic traffic to a website through increasing the website’s positions in search engines such as Google, Bing, and Yahoo (Baidu is popular in China as well).
- Cost-Per-Click (CPC) advertising. Paying per click, typically on these same search engines for targeted traffic.
- FaceBook Ads: Unique in there ability to geo-target, and further target by gender, age, interests, among other things. This has made it a very effective tool in the hands of the right marketer.
- Social media marketing: Not for all businesses, but utilizing all social channels in order to facilitate growth.
